40 Day Devotional
G-Notes, written by Christian author Van Davis, is a straightforward devotional that is focused entirely on Christ as the only way to salvation. There are many books on the market that promote pleasing God, but often leave Christ out of the equation. Of the few that speak of Christ, many do not give voice to the Holy Spirit and His part in leading and guiding us. We are left to believe that Heaven is still attainable through our own efforts, through our own goals and our own choices. These are dead end pathways and empty promises that only serve the enemy’s cause. G-Notes looks at verses and passages that show us the Trinity as a whole and how we are to embrace our salvation. It is a devotional written to encourage bible study.

G-Notes 02-10-2004
Notes to encourage bible study and clarify Bible teachings as you walk daily with God. The “G” stands for “glorify”. As we encourage one another, we edify the church. As we edify the church, we glorify God. We are to love each other, just as Christ loves us. We are to give support and pray for others and live as the Holy Spirit guides us.
The King Who Would Be Man
John 12:31-32, “Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world shall be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth will draw all men to Myself.”
Matthew 12:21, “And in His name the Gentiles will Hope.”
John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.’”
We are to take up our cross daily and do battle with ourselves—our selfish desires (Mark 8:34), and do battle with satan and all that he desires, which is to oppose God at every turn. When we follow Christ, all that we do is for God’s glory, God’s desires. For Hebrews 2:3 says, “How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?” How can we fail to be saved by so great a Lord? Hebrews 7:25 says,
“Hence, also, He is able to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.”
Jesus, our Lord and King, is able to save because He became a man. And as a man, He died a man’s death in order to become our King. And because He lives forever in Heaven, He is able to save forever all those who wish to enter Heaven by believing in Him. Therefore,
“let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23).
Be strong in the Lord, and not in your own strength for our own strength is not enough to save or heal. Receive His gift of grace and live with Him now and throughout all the ages. (Ephesians 2:7-8)
